Skin Glow MATCHA
Smoothie Bowl
This delightful breakfast recipe not only tastes great, but also does wonders for your skin’s glow, thanks to its rich supply of antioxidants. Antioxidants are like your skin’s bodyguards, protecting it from damage caused by things like pollution and stress. Here’s how this recipe can give you that radiant skin:
- Matcha’s Antioxidant Boost: Matcha tea is a superstar when it comes to antioxidants. It has special antioxidants called catechins that protect your skin from harm, reduce redness, and keep it looking fresh. Adding matcha in this recipe gives your skin these protective superpowers.
- Avocado’s Skin-Friendly Goodies: Avocado is loaded with vitamins A, E, and C, all great for your skin. Vitamin E keeps your skin soft and bouncy, while vitamin C helps it stay firm and even-toned. These vitamins are like a beauty treatment from the inside.
- Pineapple’s vitamin C Kick: Pineapple adds a burst of vitamin C, another antioxidant superhero. It helps your skin make collagen, which keeps it youthful and smooth. Plus, it evens out your skin tone.
- Fibre and Detox: This recipe has fiber from avocados and matcha. Fibre is like a broom for your body, helping to sweep out any unwanted stuff. When your insides are clean, your skin can show its best self, with fewer blemishes and problems.
When you enjoy this breakfast, you’re giving your skin a boost from the inside. It’s like a secret recipe for that natural, healthy glow we all want.

When someone asks me about skincare, I usually start by saying that what’s happening on your skin is often closely linked to what’s going on in your gut.
It’s part of what’s known as the gut-skin axis—a connection between our digestive health and the state of our skin.
In many cases, skin problems are actually signs of internal inflammation, especially in the digestive system. And one of the most common one? Too much sugar in the diet. It can quietly throw things off balance, causing breakouts or irritation without us even realising.
The thing is, we’re rarely encouraged to think about skin this way. We’re taught to focus on treating it from the outside—lotions, prescriptions, quick fixes—without asking why it’s flaring up in the first place.
For me, one of the biggest changes came when I cut out dairy. I found I had a sensitivity to lactose, and after removing it, my skin started to calm down noticeably. Everyone’s body reacts differently, of course, but trying something like cutting back on dairy or sugar—even just for a couple of weeks—can give you a clearer picture of what might be going on internally.
That said, if you do remove something from your diet, it’s important to replace it with something nourishing. This isn’t about strict rules or restrictions—it’s more about learning what suits your body best and finding a good balance.
So if your skin has been acting up, don’t just look at what product to try next.
Oftentimes, the real answers lie in your gut—and on your plate!
When you start supporting your body from the inside, it often shows on the outside too, in the best possible way.
